Excel Roofing completed the Marino Gardens Heritage Re-roof as a large commercial terracotta tile re-roofing project in Auckland. Because the building is a recognised heritage Art Deco apartment complex, the reroof required careful planning, detailed workmanship and close attention to the original roof appearance.
The project used a Monier Terracotta Roofing System with Marseille profile tiles. A custom five-colour blend was selected to recreate the warm, naturally varied appearance of the original roof while delivering a modern roofing system designed for long-term performance.

Old Roof Removal

Existing roof tiles were carefully removed under full scaffold and weather protection, allowing the team to work safely while protecting the heritage building.
Structure Exposed
Roof framing opened for preparation
Once the old tiles were removed, the roof structure was exposed for inspection and preparation before the new Monier Marseille terracotta roofing system was installed.

New Monier Marseille terracotta tiles were installed progressively across the roof, with the custom five-colour blend carefully laid to recreate the original heritage appearance.
